Professor Mukhopadhyay and Recent Ph.D. Graduates Receive Abraham Wald Prizes
Professor Nitis Mukhopadhyay and two recent Ph.D. graduates, Dr. Boyi Zhang and Dr. Anhar S. Aloufi, received Abraham Wald Prizes in Sequential Analysis at the International Workshop in Sequential Methodologies 2026, held at American University in Washington, D.C.
The 2024 prize recognized Professor Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Zhang for the paper “Theory and Practice of Second-Order Expansions for Moments of 100ρ% Accelerated Sequential Stopping Times in Parametric and Nonparametric Estimation with Arbitrary Fractional ρ.” The 2025 prize recognized Professor Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Aloufi for the paper “Two-Stage Two-Sample Negative Exponential Fixed-Width Confidence Intervals with Tables of Percentiles for Equal and Unequal Pilot Sizes: Illustrations with Cancer Datasets.”
