Guanyu Hu, a former postdoctoral research scholar, has been elected as Chair-Elect 2023 for the American Statistical Association’s Statistics in Sports Section. The Purpose of the Statistics in Sports section is to stimulate statistical research with an application to sports, promote publications devoted to statistical theory and methodology and their application to statistics in sports, and to increase the availability of information concerning the science of statistics and its contribution to sports.
